The Commonwealth Soccer Club, one of the leading youth soccer clubs in Kentucky, is currently hiring for a U10-U14 Program Director. As one of the 3 most senior positions within the organization, this integral role will be responsible for the overall development of U10-U14 age players and coaches to align with the club mission and training objectives.
1. ROLE DEFINITION:
a. The U10-U14 DIRECTOR is a permanent part time managerial position of the Commonwealth Soccer Club. This position reports to the Executive Committee. This individual has the primary responsibility over and is accountable for leadership and operations of U10-U14 programs. The following duties will be performed:
b. Executive Responsibilities
i. In concert with the High School Director and Academy Director, establish, implement, evaluate and lead club’s technical and competitive mission
ii. Lead, develop, implement and evaluate the club’s U10-U14 programs. The responsibilities include:
iii. Strategic planning, recruitment and placement of employees
iv. Educate parents on the club’s policies and philosophies on youth development and age appropriate activities through orientations, seminars and written material
v. Build and promote a “club culture” across all teams and all age divisions
vi. Be accessible and open to communicate with the membership on all matters
c. Player Development Responsibilities
i. Assist in the recruitment and assimilation of new players
ii. Organize, participate in or lead and evaluate skill development clinics and training sessions for players in the club
iii. Observe games and training sessions to evaluate players and training progression
iv. Attend and lead practice sessions from time to time.
v. Organize, lead and evaluate the design and implementation of player evaluation forms
vi. Organize, lead and evaluate the design of training priorities for each group and level
vii. Assist with the organization and operation of summer camps for players within the club.
d. Coaching Development Responsibilities
i. Recruit, develop, retain and lead U10-U14 coaching staff.
ii. Observe training, games for all teams in the age group and provide necessary feedback to coaches
iii. Research and provide educational resources and opportunities
iv. Provide written evaluations to employees at the end of each season
v. Lead the player evaluation process with coaching staff
vi. Assist in the player placement process in the club
vii. Cooperate with referee development as needed
e. Administrative Responsibilities
i. Develop and manage a written U10-U14 plan, to align with the Academy and HS Program Directors, for presentation and board approval in May and January of each year.
ii. Guide and lead staff as they work closely with administrative staff on shared technical/administrative matters
iii. Attend Executive Committee Meetings once per month and lead staff meetings where necessary
iv. Advise and assist administrative staff regarding tournament selection
v. Assist Board designee responsible for field assignment and facility operations
vi. Attend Board of Directors Meeting as requested
vii. Assist the club with the technical coaching aspects of a Risk Management Policy
2. QUALIFICATIONS
a. USSF A/B license preferred, NSCAA equivalent, or equivalent foreign licensure - lower level licensure will be accepted if a commitment to higher license attainment is demonstrated
b. Excellent verbal/written communication and dispute resolution skills
c. Demonstrated and proven leadership qualities
d. Strong organizational and time management skills
e. Demonstrated ability to relate to and motivate youth, coaches and parents
f. Demonstrated managerial experience
g. Ability to develop and execute a long-term vision for a growing soccer club
h. Committed to working a non-traditional work schedule
i. Successful completion of a background check
j. Strong computer skills
