2016-2017 Season

The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program to identify and develop youth players to represent their State, Region, and country in soccer competitions. ODP teams are formed with each of the 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations and four regions, made up of the best players in the various age groups. At the state association level, pools of players are identified in each eligible age group, brought together as a team to develop their skill through training and competition. From the state pools and subsequent teams, players are identified for regional and national pools and teams. The Olympic Development Program works in conjunction with club soccer and players are permitted to participate in both. Players should see it as a great honor to represent their state association as well as their club team as they strive to become a better player.

What is the Purpose?

1) To identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition;

2) To provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels;

3) Through the use of carefully selected and licensed coaches, to develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of coaching.

2016-2017 ODP State Squads

Identifying the next squad of players for the 2002-2004 age groups has been very difficult. This is a testament to each club’s developmental environment, the overall level of play from each individual, and the character displayed from everyone involved. Every player was chosen for a reason and it is important to view this moment as an opportunity to grow, to reflect on individual performance and use this process as a positive step for the future. We encourage each player to take initiative in their personal development and look at each day as chance to improve.

Through our preexisting relationships with each respective club, we will continue to monitor and support each player in the future. Be passionate about your own development, demonstrate outstanding character and excel in your current environment.

We will be providing each individual player who was not selected to the squad with specific feedback. This will include strengths to build off and opportunities to grow in. We plan to communicate this information to each player within the next two weeks and request that you also share these with your club coaches.

Congratulations to those selected for the squads, you should not settle for this achievement and use at as time to reflect while growing your own game. You will receive more details from Adrian Parrish within the next 14 days regarding the Play/Practice Date in June and the ODP Sub-Region Camp.
