2016-2017 Season

The Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a national program to identify and develop youth players to represent their State, Region, and country in soccer competitions. ODP teams are formed with each of the 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations and four regions, made up of the best players in the various age groups. At the state association level, pools of players are identified in each eligible age group, brought together as a team to develop their skill through training and competition. From the state pools and subsequent teams, players are identified for regional and national pools and teams. The Olympic Development Program works in conjunction with club soccer and players are permitted to participate in both. Players should see it as a great honor to represent their state association as well as their club team as they strive to become a better player.

What is the Purpose?

1) To identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition;

2) To provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels;

3) Through the use of carefully selected and licensed coaches, to develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of coaching.

2016-2017 ODP State Pools

Kentucky Youth Soccer would like to thank all players that participated in the recent Kentucky Youth Soccer Olympic Development try-outs. With over 750 players trying out for a position, the competition for spots in the training pool was very fierce. Every player that participated in the try-outs raised the level of play.  Although we cannot accept every player, we would like to congratulate those that have started the process of being involved with the state's number one player identification program.

We sympathize for those players not listed.  Although this may be difficult to accept, we recommend that you personally contact Adrian Parrish, KYSA Technical Director, for feedback so you can improve your game for future opportunities.

Players that are listed will receive an invite to accept your position and have until 11:59 pm EST on Thursday, November 10th, 2016. Any players that do not accept their position by the deadline will be removed from the roster and their position will be offered to an alternate player.  Alternate players are not listed as we do not wish to cause on confusion, but if they are to be offered a position it could occur anytime before the first pool training session on November 12th 2016.

Once again thanks for everyone's efforts in helping raising the level of play in Kentucky while growing it Nationwide.
