Kentucky Youth Soccer Awards Scholarship Winners
LEXINGTON, KY (August 2, 2010) – After months of review and deliberation, Kentucky Youth Soccer today announced the winners of the John and Sue Gompper Founders Scholarship. In total Kentucky Youth Soccer will award a sum of $8,000 to help provide financial support to young student athletes faced with rising college costs.

“After reviewing hundreds of applications, we were amazed to learn more about the young people in our organization and how they are making a positive impact both on and off the field in their communities,” stated Kris Zander, Kentucky Youth Soccer’s Executive Director. “We believe that the lessons players learn in the youth soccer system – teamwork, dedication, discipline, passion, and a sense of pride – help to build a strong foundation for all of our kids regardless if they continue playing soccer at the next level or not. We congratulate all of our Scholarship winners, and the entire class of 2010 for their achievements and know that great things are headed their way.”
