National ID Camp

The annual identification camp for the U-14 Boys' National Team Identification Camp has kicked off at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., under the direction of U-14 BNT head coach Manny Schellscheidt. The 80 players, born in 1998 or 1999, will train together twice daily from July 31-Aug. 6 at the National Training Center.

The players for the identification camp are selected by the U.S. Soccer technical advisors and the national scouting network. Player identification in the United States now includes U.S. Soccer training centers, a scouting initiative that is free for players across the country.

The U-14 BNT was created to introduce young players to the national teams, and a level of soccer they would otherwise not see at such a young age. Daily training sessions and scrimmages are supplemented by programming that prepares the players for potential call-ups to national teams in the future.
