Kentucky Youth Soccer Association Announces Preliminary Plans
for 2013 Mobile Marketing Tour
Through Partnership with Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc.
LEXINGTON, KY – Kentucky Youth Soccer Association, in partnership with Brewco Marketing Group and the Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation, is proud to announce the creation of a mobile marketing tour known as the Kentucky Youth Soccer Experience. Set for launch in April 2013, the tour, a first of its kind for any US Youth Soccer State Soccer Association, is scheduled to visit upwards of sixty (60) various soccer and community events throughout the Commonwealth with the goal of promoting soccer and healthy living to all Kentuckians.
The 2013 Kentucky Youth Soccer Experience is teaming up with the Thumbs Up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation to promote awareness in the battle against childhood cancer. Lane Goodwin participated in Kentucky Youth Soccer programs until his diagnosis in early 2010. Lane was recognized for his positive attitude and his desire to increase awareness for childhood cancer research. Beginning in September 2012, Lane gained a remarkable worldwide, Facebook inspired movement highlighted by friends, celebrities, and nearly 400,000 others supporting "Thumbs Up for Lane" by sending photos and encouragement. Unfortunately, Lane passed away on October 17, 2012 but his legacy lives on.
This is an exciting time for soccer – coming off the excitement of the MLS Cup, the US Women’s National Team Gold Medal at the London Olympics and looking forward to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the sport of soccer is reaching new levels of popularity in Kentucky and America. In 2013, Kentucky Youth Soccer, through the Kentucky Youth Soccer Experience, will achieve the following goals:
- Generate incremental awareness for the game of soccer
- Enhance knowledge of Kentucky Youth Soccer, its membership, and programs
- Support Health and Wellness through onsite health screenings
- Increase awareness of childhood cancer through the Thumbs up for Lane Goodwin Childhood Cancer Foundation
The Kentucky Youth Soccer Experience will feature activity stations and events ranging from an artificial soccer field, multiple video game consoles, foosball challenge, radar gun challenge, inflatable shooting wall, and other interactive stations. Also, the Soccer Experience will feature a health monitoring station for participants for basic health and wellness evaluations. The Soccer Experience will have interactive opportunities for all ages.
"We are really excited about the Kentucky Youth Soccer Experience and the ability to partner with the Thumbs Up for Lane Foundation," said President of Kentucky Youth Soccer, Tim Turney. "We are determined to create additional awareness of the game of soccer as an example of healthy living and wellness."
"We are humbled and honored to be partnering with Kentucky Youth Soccer for this mobile tour in 2013. The passion Lane had for soccer is a perfect vehicle for us to share his love of the sport to others and to build awareness for childhood cancer research. Forty-six (46) kids will be diagnosed with cancer each school day while seven (7) will die. Let’s work together to stop this ‘monster’ called cancer," stated Lane’s mother Angela Goodwin.
Brewco Marketing Group will be actively soliciting partners who wish to help fund this project and be involved in the mobile tour. Please contact Mark Freer, mfreer@brewco.com or (270) 754-2264 ext. 229 for more information on sponsorship opportunities and creating additional brand awareness.
