With heavy hearts, we wanted to share news of John William Gompper passing on Sunday, February 22, 2015.  Mr. Gompper played a critical role in the growth and development of youth soccer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  He felt strongly about the importance of giving back to the community and found soccer as the perfect way to make an incredible impact.  His involvement went above and beyond as he established multiple youth soccer organizations in Northern Kentucky.  In addition, he was the founder and first President of the  Kentucky Youth Soccer Association, an organization he established to help unite all the clubs throughout the Commonwealth.  Over the years, Mr. Gompper continually gave back to the community by funding the John and Sue Gompper Founders Scholarship for High School seniors involved in soccer, to assist with their college financial burden. Mr. Gompper left an extraordinary imprint on youth soccer in Kentucky that will be everlasting. 

Mr. Gompper will be remembered by loved ones on Saturday, February 28, 2015
Location of services: Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2718 Dixie Highway, Crestview Hill, KY.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with eulogy and services from 2:00 – 3:00 PM.
