Inclusive Soccer Camp in Lexington - Sign Up NOW Before It's Too Late
Lexington YSA TOPSoccer, in conjunction with the Kentucky Youth Soccer, will be offering a half-day summer soccer campfor individuals ages 5-14 on Saturday, June 9 from 9am - 12pm at Henry Clay High School in Lexington. The three-hour camp is open to players of all levels who wish to learn more fundamental techniques while ensuring that all individuals, regardless of whether or not they have a disability, will be able to participate. At the end of the three-hour camp, a healthy lunch will be provided to camp participants to allow time to socialize while emphasizing healthy eating. Each player who attends will receive a Camp T-Shirt, Goody Bag, Participation Certificate and the opportunity to win lots of fun prizes. The Registration Fee is $10.
As part of the camp, youth soccer coaches and parents will be invited to attend an on-site classroom program and a field coaching clinic. For the first hour of the clinic, coaches and parents will have the opportunity to participate in a classroom coaching session where they will learn about different disabilities and strategies for including all individuals on a soccer team, regardless of whether or not they have a disability. For the final two hours of the clinic, these coaches and parents will have an opportunity to observe the soccer clinic that includes children ages 5-14 with and without disabilities to see these general strategies for including athletes of all ability levels together.
