The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Player Transfer and Release Process

Each year, there are players who wish to switch to another club prior to the end of the seasonal year.  Kentucky Youth Soccer has policies in place regarding player transfers.  This information and more can be found by reviewing the state rules.  Detailed information on these polices and the processes to complete transfers can be found below.

Player Obligation/Club Tryout Policy-Player Commitment 

Kentucky Youth Soccer Association has policies regarding player obligation and club tryouts.  (Sections 4 & 5 on page 12 of the State Rules).

  • Section 4:  Player Obligation - Once a select player signs a club/team registration form, that player becomes bound to that team for one year. The player may not transfer to another club/team unless specified in the transfer polices.
  • Section 5: Club Tryout Policy - Player commitment - Kentucky Youth Soccer will not recognize a player commitment to a club prior to June 15th for any player. Players who wish to be released from a commitment to a club prior to June 15th may be released by the state office without approval from the club. Player wishing to be released after June 15th will need to complete the release form and receive approval from their current club.

Player Transfer within Kentucky Member Clubs

For players transferring  from one KY Youth Soccer member club to another KY Youth Soccer member club. 

  1. Parent/Guardian will contact the new club (receiving club).
  2. The receiving club will initiate the transfer in Demosphere. (Club administrators - click here for directions). 
  3. If the transfer is during the fee window, the parent/guardian will submit the transfer fee to the state office (see the transfer deadlines above)  .
  4. The state office will communicate with the player's current club and approve/deny in the system,
  5. Once approval/denial is complete, the associated clubs will and parent/guardian will receive notification that the player has/has not been transferred.

*Note that if the transfer is requested during the fee period, then the transfer will NOT be approved form the state until after the $200 fee is paid. 

Player Transfer to Another State Association OR Player Release

Player Transfer/Release Form: For players transferring to a team in another state OR to drop from a team.  If player is transferring to a team within another  state association, the player will need to have a transfer form completed/approved AND  complete the Out of State Registration Form.

  • Transferring to a team in another state: 
    1. Parent/Guardian will complete the transfer form.
    2. Transfer form must be signed by the club President or Registrar from the releasing club. 
    3. Submit form to (including transfer fee if it is during the fee window).
    4. The state association will approve the form and email completed document to all parties. 
    5. Upon receipt of the approved transfer form, the parent/guardian will complete the Out of State Player Registration online. 
  • Player release: 
    1. Parent/Guardian/club will complete the player release form selecting reason for the release (i.e. no longer player; moved beyond reasonable travel distance, etc.)
    2. Completed form submitted to
    3. The state association will approve the form and email completed document to all parties.
