Referee Abuse Prevention

Referee Abuse Prevention.

Beginning in March 2025, U.S. Soccer’s updated Referee Abuse Policy (Policy 531-9) will take effect, strengthening protections for referees at all levels of the game. This policy introduces clearer definitions of physical and non-physical abuse toward referees, along with stronger suspensions for those who engage in misconduct. These updates reinforce the importance of respect and accountability within the soccer community.

At Kentucky Youth Soccer, we are fully committed to upholding this policy and ensuring that all players, coaches, referees, and spectators participate in a safe, positive, and respectful game-day environment. As we implement these changes, we encourage all members of our community to help us foster a culture that values sportsmanship and the essential role of referees in the game.
