The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

The Kentucky State Open Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. This tournament is open to any properly registered team aged 13U – 19U that has competed in (or will compete in) a 4-team league. No all-star teams or guest players are allowed. Any league, club or association found to have substituted ineligible players on a roster will forfeit their games at this tournament and may be subject to further sanctions. The State Cup Champions will advance to the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championship with the opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championship.

2020 - 21 Seasonal Year

US Youth Soccer recently made the following changes to their USYS National League (including the Conferences, Showcase Series and Playoffs) and National Championship Series (including State, Regional and National competitions) for the 2020-2021 seasonal year:

  • The oldest admissible age group FOR THE 2020-21 SEASONAL YEAR ONLY will be 19/20-U. Eligible players’ must be born on or after January 1, 2001. This one-year change is in place to allow players to participate in one additional year of eligibility due to the missed programming as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

US Soccer has a requirement that any player born in 2001 will need to pass a background check and complete SafeSport training.  We are working with Players Health and Demosphere to make this a requirement and we should have everything solidified later this fall.

2020 State Open Cup - Cancelled

Just like every business around the country, Kentucky Youth Soccer has spent the last 6 weeks working around the clock on behalf of our members. Unfortunately, today we are saddened to announce that the Board of Directors voted to cancel the 2020 select tournaments. This includes the Soccer Village Cup, Presidents Cup and State Cup due to the events surrounding COVID-19. From the beginning, our goal had been to offer something for our players to allow them the chance to get on the field in some way but only if it could be done in a safe manner. The top priority being the health and safety of players, coaches, referees, and anyone else involved with the game.

The Kentucky Youth Soccer staff has been working diligently on alternative plans to host the events for our members.  We were hopeful to be able to run the events albeit on a delayed schedule. However, it has become evident from the announcement of Governor Andy Beshear’s phased rollouts for reopening the state, that there just will not be enough time to safely host these events.
